| American baritone Troy Cook recently appeared as Marcello in Florida Grand Opera's new Boheme and just prior he was Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor in Las Palmas. | gala concert with Opera Pacific, as Marcello in Boheme with Bershire Opera and performed Figaro in Barbiere for Opera Omaha last spring.
2007 began with his German debut with the Semperoper Dresden as Marcello in Boheme. He also performed Marcello in his Opera Company of Philadelphia debut to open their season. In addition, he returned to ABT in New York and Washington D.C. for the Kindertotenlieder. In summer 2006 he was Sharpless for the Berkshire Opera Company and just prior debuted with La Monnaie, Brussels in a gala concert of Pagliacci. In spring 2006 he performed with the LA Philharmonic in a world-premiere conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen; performed Enrico in Kansas City's Lucia, Carmina Burana with the San Antonio Symphony,was guest vocal soloist in the Kindertotenlieder with American Ballet Theater in New York, and performed Zurga in Les Pęcheurs de Perles with Opera Carolina. In summer 2005 we saw his "show stopping" Belcore with the Berkshire Opera Company. Other recent performances include Carmina Burana with the LA Chamber Orchestra and with the Phoenix Symphony. He also sang in a Richard Tucker Foundation concert in New York City. In 2004/05 he returned to San Francisco Opera as Mr. Flint in Billy Budd. | Other recent appearances include Figaro in Barbiere at Fort Worth Opera, Guglielmo with Santa Fe and Toledo Opera, solo recitals under the auspices of the Marilyn Horne Foundation and a performance of Carmina Burana with the American Ballet Theater at Lincoln Center. |
Mr. Cook also appeared with the Metropolitan Opera in L'Enfant et les Sortileges and in a new production of Sly in 2001. In the fall of 2000 he made his European debut as Giacomo in Beatrix Cenci with the Grand Theatre de Geneve followed by his Schaunard and Morales in Carmen at the Metropolitan Opera.
Other engagements included productions of Barbiere with Florida Grand Opera and Minnesota Opera.
| Troy made his NYCO debut in the 99/00 season with roles in the trilogy, Central Park which he also sang with Glimmerglass. Those performances were taped and later telecast on the PBS series Great Performances. He also performed with Opera Colorado, Aspen Music Theater and Eastman Opera Theater. He is a former member of the Glimmerglass Young American Artists Program, the Apprentice Artists Program of the Santa Fe Opera, the Florida Grand Opera Studio and holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. He currently studies voice with Bill Schuman. |
| Upcoming engagemants next season include Albert in Werther with Kentucky Opera, Bilbao Viaggio and Les Mamelles and concerts with the Portland Symphony and Arizona Musicfest. Debuts with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden and the Teatro Liceu, Barcelona are scheduled for the next seasons. Riccardo in I Puritani comes into his repertoire in 2009.
