Manon Strauss Evrard Soprano |
| 26 year old French born soprano Manon Strauss Evrard was recently seen as the soprano soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater in Roma under Maestro Paulo Olmi which was televised thoughout Italy. She had several debuts during the 2007-08 season, including the four heroines in Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Lucia - both for Virginia Opera, to great acclaim! She opened the season as Musetta for Den Norske Opera in Oslo. Ms. Evrard made her professional debut as Violetta with the Prague State Opera in 2006 and made her Asian debut as Juliette with the Hong Kong Opera in 2007. Other recent appearances have included a concert gala for L'Opera de Montreal performing Elvira in the Puritani mad scene, the Miskolc Festival in Hungary and Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. |

| During her three year residency with the prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts, Philadelphia, Ms. Evrard distinguished herself performing a number of leading roles including: Gilda, Manon, Donna Elvira and Iolanta.

| Ms Evrard is blessed with a warm and dramatic vocal presence with great coloratura agility. This has directed her towards some interesting and diverse repertoire, including: Rossini's Armida and Semiramide, Bellini's Puritani and Sonnambula, and Mozart's Konstanze.

| A native of Nancy, Ms. Evrard has won many awards and competitions including: First Prize at the Gerda Lissner competition (2008), First Prize at the Internazione di Canto Lirico di Rocca della Macie (Italy), in 2004, the Norske Opera Award at the Belvedere Competition in 2005 and the French awards of the Gold Medal at the National Region de Nancy and the Adami Prize of the Golden Voice competition. |
| Upcoming engagements include: Rosina for Virginia Opera in 2008-09 a well as the title role in their Lucrezia Borgia in 2010. Her Metropolitan Opera debut is also scheduled for that season.
